<h1>Synagogue</h1>
The Memorial plate states: "At this place was erected the synagogue of Ehrenfeld, connected to a religious school
for girls and boy, in 1927 after the concept of the architect Robert Stern. It was destroyed the day after the
Reichprogromnacht at 8th of November 1938."<br><br>
From the 750.000 Cologne people in 1933 20.000 had Jewish origin.
<br><br>
In 2004 the New Jewish Welfare Center (neues jüdisches Wohlfahrtszentrum) opened in the old asyl at the Ottostrasse, in which is installed a synagogue, a kindergarten, a basic school, a home for parents and the administration for more than 5000 members of the community of the synagogue.
